Philadelphia and Chicago Make Deal
The month of July is here and for teams that have little chance of making the playoffs, the trading season has begun. The bottom teams in the American League standings reached agreement to swap two players each. The Athletics parted with pitcher Bock Baker (#73 ranked prospect; 3-1 with 4 saves and 0.96 ERA at Double A) and Dave Williams (#69 ranked prospect; 2-3 with 9 saves and 1.44 ERA at Double A) to the White Sox. In return, they received veteran pitcher Jim Sullivan (3-3, 2.87 ERA at Triple A) and Lave Winham (#14 ranked prospect; 5-10 with 3.28 ERA and 1.5 WAR in 26 games / 21 starts at the MLB level).
