Trying to see if I can manage the Rockies to have a better record each year than they did in real life...starting with their 1993 Expansion year.
This means entering each game (or, at least the VAST majority of them)* and simming out each at-bat.
This is from OOTP 23, with historical transactions (so that the same players are in the organization) and 3-year re-calc enabled (& doubling the ratings of current year) so that there may be some slight variation but not much, in player ratings.
I also have the development engine enabled, so that guys continue to develop during the season, until they get re-calculated. This can add some slight variation as well.
Lastly, I'm taking an approach that is "non-traditional," so to speak. As in, I don't care if a guy is my "closer," I want to use him in high leverage situations. I also won't hesitate to pitch position players if the game is out of hand, to save the bullpen. Not doing as much stealing & bunting as in real life (at that time in the 90's) either, unless it seems warranted. Besides that, am also focusing on the little intricacies of pinch running, pinch hitting, etc. that having only 7 RP's can allow one to do.
*For the games I didn't enter, I've changed all of the players' individual strategies to reflect how I want them to play.
Here is Video 1, if you want to see some action. Currently above .500 at 14-10! Daryl Boston just got player of the week as well...I'll continue to ride him while he's hot.
