Turn out the lights, the party's over...
The quest for a threepeat is over as the Rays once again couldn't score runs and paid for it tonight losing 5-2 to the Rangers.
Kevin DiCostanzo was excellent as have most of the Rays starters this series but with no run support he had no margin for error. And then
Nathan Dettmer and
Matt Cronin made a mess in the 7th with the latter giving up a grand slam that gave Texas an insurmountable-for-this-series 5-0 lead. So the 2034 season is over for the Rays. With the notable exception of
Arturo Gutierrez (and starter
Ethan McElvain) the entire crew could be back depending on how much of a payroll the owner will give me so the 2035 Rays should be contenders again.
