Cards news: June 19 -- LHP Taylor placed on IL, Weathers returns to Cardinals roster
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed left-handed relief pitcher Josh Taylor on the injured list after he had been diagnosed with a dead arm.
Signed by the team as a free agent in the offseason, Taylor, 34, had pitched in 28 games for the Cardinals going 2-1 with a 4.22 ERA.
Garrett Weathers, 27, who had been designated for assignment has been returned to the active roster.
In 18 games for the Cardinals, Weathers has gone 0-4 with an 8.24 ERA.
Weathers had made four starts going 0-4 with a 7.82 ERA.
