The St. Louis Cardinals have completed a trade sending shortstop Masyn Winn to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for left-handed relief pitcher Jovani Moran.
Winn, 25, broke into the majors for the Cardinals in 2024 and while flashing an elite glove has struggled at the plate.
This season, he has played in 47 games/45 starts and hit just .189 with five homers and 14 RBIs.
For his career in the majors, Winn has got into 361 games/357 starts and hit ,214 with 27 home runs and 132 RBIs.
In the 30-year-old Moran, the Cardinals bolster their struggling left-side of their bullpen and also add a pitcher with closing experience.
This season, Moran has pitched in 34 games going 4-3 with 20 saves and a 2.68 ERA.
Moran broke into the majors with the Twins in 2021 and was traded to the Rockies in 2025.
For his career, he has pitched in 294 games going 13-29 with 74 saves and a 3.23 ERA.
