Game 111: St. Louis Browns vs. Boston Americans

The St. Louis Browns (48-63) came to Beantown for a matchup against the Boston Americans (76-35). In what turned out to be an exciting 14 inning affair, the Browns topped Boston by a 3 to 2 score.

Tom Hughes (12-14) pitched an outstanding game, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 14 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch on 194 pitches; Game Score of 80. Noodles Hahn (19-9) took the hard luck loss after surrendering 3 earned runs on 10 hits and 2 walks; Game Score of 82.

The St. Louis hitting-attack was led by Jim Connor (4 for 5, 1 RBI, 1 Walk) and Bill Hassamaer (2 for 6, Double, 1 Run). Boston's offense was led by Frank Chance (3 for 6, Double, 1 RBI, 1 Stolen Base), Chick Stahl (3 for 6, 1 Run), Fred Clarke (2 for 5, 1 Run, 1 Walk, 1 Stolen Base), and Noodles Hahn (2 for 5, 1 RBI).
