Cy Young (20-7) picked up the victory by allowing just 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 1 hit batsman to finish with a Game Score of 69. Jock Menefee (0-2) was saddled with the loss after serving up 6 earned runs on 13 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch; Game Score of 30. With the victory, Young became the 3rd American League pitcher to reach the 20-game win mark this season.
