MLB news: Sept. 21 -- Minnesota clinches fourth consecutive postseason berth
For the second consecutive season, the Minnesota Twins are champions of the American League Central Division as they clinched the title with a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
At 83-68, the Twins lead the second-place Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians by 11.5 games with 11 games left in the season.
Minnesota sits one game behind American League East leading Toronto for the second-best record in the AL.
The Los Angeles Angels (96-55) have already clinched the top seed in the upcoming postseason having long since wrapped up the crown in the AL West.
The playoff berth is the fourth in a row for the Twins. They last made the World Series in 2024 when they lost to the Dodgers. Their last World Series title came back in 1997.
