Owen Miller got the Knights off to a good start, taking Hunter Greene deep in the 1st to give Charlotte an early 1-0 lead. The Reds tied it on Nick Senzel's bomb to left to lead off the bottom of the 7th. Austin Adams relieved Manaea and retired the side.

Owen Miller hit a 2-out single in the 10th and Jhoneksey Noel followed with a double over LF Max Schrock's head to score Miller, giving Charlotte a 2-1 lead. A. J. Puk retired the side in the bottom.of the inning for his 10th save
