Game 125: Boston Americans vs. Baltimore Orioles

This was the Christy Mathewson show, as the star pitcher not only kept the opposition in check, he smacked an American League record-tying 2 triples to aid his cause in what ended up being a repeat of yesterday's score; the Orioles (70-55) 6 to 3 win over the Americans (84-41).

Mathewson (20-11) limited opposing hitters to 3 earned runs on 10 hits, 2 walks, 2 wild pitches, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score of 62. Noodles Hahn (21-11) was tagged with the loss after serving up 6 runs (4 earned) on 14 hits, 1 walk, and 1 wild pitch; Game Score of 35.

The Baltimore hitting-attack was led by Jesse Burkett (3 for 3, Double, 1 Run, 1 Walk), Roy Thomas (3 for 5, 1 Run, 2 RBIs), and Christy Mathewson (2 for 3, 2 Triples, 1 Run). The Americans relied on Frank Chance (2 for 5, Double; currently leads the American League with a .344 batting average), John Farrell (2 for 3, 2 Runs, 1 Walk), and Jiggs Donahue (2 for 4, 1 RBI).
