A nice late-season sweep as the Boston Americans (89-42) topped the Philadelphia Athletics (56-75) by a 8 to 4 score.

Before 6,238 fans, Jesse Tannehill (22-11) allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits and 2 walks; Game Score of 55. Button Briggs (12-18) only lasted 4 2/3 innings in which he gave up 8 earned runs on 9 hits, 1 walk, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score of 13. Dan Daub covered 2 1/3 innings while allowing just 1 hit, and Happy Townsend closed out the final inning without allowing a base runner.
