Blue Jays Batter Rattlers 12-4 In Pro Cup Opener
In the opening game of the IPA Pro Cup Finals, defending champion Tuckanarra hit everything in sight and battered Sugar Valley 12-4 at the Blue Jays home field... the Blue Jays blasted out 17 hits at Central Park Stadium off four Rattler pitchers, sparked by RF Danny Redd (.382), 1B Lynn Starr (.333) and 2B Kendall Smith (.208) with 3 hits and 2 RBIs each... winning pitcher Glynn Starr (.273) even got in the act with a home run... Starr (4-1 3.11) claimed his fourth postseason victory, but gave up 4 runs on 9 hits with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks... Benny McConnell (3-1 3.81) lost for the first time in the playoffs, being shelled for 5 runs in 2 innings.
