Cards news: April 8 -- Ankle injury will sideline Arraez, Berry called up from Memphis
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed 2B/OF Luis Arraez on the 10-day injured list after he was diagnosed with torn ligaments in his ankle.
Arraez is expected to miss up to four weeks.
Acquired in a trade with the Twins in the offseason, Arraez, 30, played in four games with the Cardinals before being injured in a 10-3 win over Washington on April 3.
In those games, he hit .308 with three RBIs.
Getting called from AAA Memphis is OF/1B Jacob Berry.
Berry, who spent the entire 2027 season with the Cardinals, started the 2028 season at AAA after a poor spring training.
At AAA Memphis, Berry has hit .321 with three homers and five RBIs in seven games.
Last season with the Cardinals, Berry played in 138 games/135 starts during which he hit .238 with 35 home runs and 77 RBIs.
