Cards news: April 10 -- Shoulder injury will sideline Robaina, Moran called up from Memphis
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed left-handed relief pitcher Julio Robaina on the 10-day injured list after he left a 7-3 loss to Arizona on April 10 with shoulder pain.
Robaina, 27, was diagnosed with shoulder tendinitis. He is expected to be out for two weeks.
In three games this season, the lefty pitched in three games posting no record and a 5.40 ERA.
Robaina split the 2027 season between AAA Memphis and the Cardinals.
With St. Louis, he worked in 24 games posting no record and a 7.34 ERA.
Getting called up from Memphis is 30-year-old left-hander Jovani Moran, who was with the Redbirds on an injury rehab after suffering a strained oblique during spring training.
At Memphis, Moran got into three games posting a save and a 7.20 ERA.
During the 2027 season with the Cardinals, Moran got into 32 games after being acquired in a July trade with the Rockies.
He posted a 4-1 record with two saves and a 2.32 ERA.
