The American League Rookie of the Month award was given to Philadelphia Athletics pitcher Lave Winham. In picking up the honors, Winham went 4-0 with a 1.46 ERA in 37 innings of play. He allowed just 6 earned runs in his 5 games (4 games started) while having a 0.92 WHIP and .196 BABIP which led to a 205 ERA+ and 0.6 WAR for the month.
