1902 World Series -- Game 5

The Boston Beaneaters (4-1) are the 1902 World Series champions as they topped the Boston Americans (1-4) by a 3 to 1 margin.

In securing their 1st MLB championship, the Beaneaters relied on the expert pitching of Bill Bernhard (2-0) who allowed just 1 earned run on 11 hits, 3 walks, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score of 61. Jesse Tannehill (0-2) was tagged with the loss after serving up 3 earned runs on 9 hits and 2 walks to finish with a Game Score of 58.

Jimmy Williams (1 for 4, Homerun, 1 Run, 2 RBIs), Sammy Strang (1 for 3, Double, 1 Run, 1 Walk), and Jimmy Ryan (2 for 4) led the way on offense. Bill Lange (2 for 4, 1 Walk), John Farrell (2 for 3), and Cozy Dolan (1 for 1, 1 RBI) played well in the loss.
