Pitching continues to improve but offense has fallen back to sixth in runs scored. Among the premier hitters, Clemente, Oliva, Allen, and Stargell, Clemente has the least power. I set him as lead off. Murtaugh moved Flood to second which is in line with my thinking.
Al Oliver is rated 19 contact but I think that's too high. Besides, he doesn't have the defense to play LF or RF instead of Oliva or Clemente or the power to push Stargell out of 1B. Kind of the problem Matty Alou had with us. Alou has a high enough BA to be leading the AL but falls in and out of having enough plate appearances. I don't know why Seattle is doing this.
