AL Fireman of the Year
The American League Fireman of the Year honor was awarded to Boston American's reliever Ham Iburg. On the season, Iburg posted a record of 2-2 with 2 saves and a 2.77 ERA in 13 innings of play (8 game appearances) for a 0.3 WAR. The selection of Iburg over last year's winner Bill Reidy was a source of heated debate, as there were rumblings that the selectors were simply punishing Reidy for his mid-season trade to the National League.
