What a strange year it has been for Bob Ewing. Despite being drafted as the 4th overall pick by the Philadelphia Athletics, Ewing became a free agent after he could not agree to terms with the team. The Detroit Tigers quickly swooped in and the rest was history, culminating in today's announcement that Ewing was the American League Rookie of the Year. For the season, Ewing posted a 20-14 record with a 2.36 ERA in 305 2/3 innings in 35 starts. He finished with a 1.15 WHIP, a .275 BABIP, a 125 ERA+, and 6.6 WAR.
