Cards news: June 24 -- OF Corbin Carroll lands on injured list, OF Jack Lausch recalled from AAA
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Corbin Carroll on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a bruised lung during a 20-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 24.
Carroll, 27, is expected to be sidelined for two weeks.
He has split time between the Cardinals and AAA Memphis this season, having begun the season in the majors before being demoted after a poor start.
In eight games with the Cardinals, Carroll has hit .192 with one homer and six RBIs.
At Memphis, Carroll has played 27 games hitting .380 with four home runs and 15 RBIs.
Lausch, 24, began the season as the Cardinals starting center fielder and had a strong start to the season before fading in May and into June.
He has played 60 games/56 starts in his majors this season and hit .219 with five home runs and 19 RBIs.
Sent to Memphis on June 13, he has played in 11 games for the Redbirds during which he has hit .286 with three homers and eight RBIs.
