Cards news: July 9 -- Three players earn All-Star nods

Starting pitcher Dylan Cease, designated hitter Paul Goldschmidt and relief pitcher Guillermo Zuniga have all been named to the National League All-Star team.
Cease has gone 7-6 with a 2.77 ERA in 18 starts during his second season with the Cardinals.
The 32-year-old has made his second All-Star team, having also made it 2023 when he was pitching for the Chicago White Sox.
This will be the ninth All-Star game for the 40-year-old Goldschmidt but just his first as a member of the Cardinals.
His other eight selections came while he was playing for the Diamondbacks.
This season, Goldschmidt, who has primarily served as the team's designated hitter, has hit .277 with 18 homers, 59 RBIs and 51 runs scoring in 81 games.
This will be the first All-Star appearance for the 29-year-old Zuniga.
He has pitched in 41games for St. Louis this season, going 2-1 with a 2.51 ERA.
