That Senators team had Ted Williams as manager. A couple of years ago, at a Negro Leagues event, I met Pedro Sierra, who played in the late stages of the Negor Leagues as a teenager, and was the batting practice pitcher for those Senators. We had a laugh about him pitching for two of the greatest hitters of all time, Williams and Oscar Charleston, his manager at the Indianapolis ABC’s. In my 1971 sim, the Senators/Rangers have activated Sierra for their bullpen. (I thought of telling him about this plan, but figured he would think I was crazy….)
