Indiana our next stop to tackle the good old Triplets out of Evansville. There had been a few clubs in Evansville previously, but I'd say for most it is the expansion version that came into being in 1970 that is the version of this franchise that most readily comes to mind. The club entered the AAA comp as Minnesota's affiliate and stayed there - eventually becoming part of the Tigers' farm system from 1974-84 - until 1985, when it was sold and moved to Nashville as the Sounds. During that stretch they won the American Association title three times: in 1972, '75 and '79, with the 1975 club also winning the Junior World Series Championship. Of their many notable alumni are included Bert Blyleven, Kirk Gibson, Jack Morris and Managers Jim Leyland and Early Wynn.
