MLB news: Sept. 25 -- Giants once again rule the NL West Division
With their 7-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, the San Francisco Giants sewed up their second straight National League West Division crown.
The Giants (94-62) lead the second-place Arizona Diamondbacks by 7.5 games with six contests left in the season.
San Francisco already is assured of a first-round playoff bye as it will be the second seed in the NL playoffs behind the Cincinnati Reds, who won the NL Central with a 101-55 record.
The Giants will be striving to reach the World Series for the second consecutive year. They dropped the 2027 World Series to the Minnesota Twins.
San Francisco last won the World Series in 2014, when it defeated the Kansas City Royals.
