Game 8: Chicago White Sox vs. Boston Americans
First home game of the season and 7,970 fans filled into Huntington Avenue Grounds stadium to root for the home team. Unfortunately for these fans, the Chicago White Sox (4-4) decimated the Boston Americans (3-5) by a 10 to 3 score. Once again, errors (4) played a huge part of the game and the Americans now sit in last place in the American League standings.
Brickyard Kennedy (1-0) picked up the win, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, and 1 wild pitch; Game Score of 61. Sam Leever (1-1) took the loss after allowing 9 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits, 1 walk, and 2 hit batsmen in 3 2/3 innings of play; Game Score of 26. Oscar Jones pitched the final 5 1/3 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits and 2 walks.
