Cash on Hand and the new Financial system

I am here to ask for help with the financials in OOTP24.
They completely changed the way the financials work and I am not understanding the new way.

I understand they took away the Cash on Hand field.

But things are not adding up for me, at least in my mind.

My team has been in the green for 5 full seasons.
Some of them, way in the green, financially.
Last season, I lost 5M total for the season.

This season, I have 1.2M available for extensions.
I understand it is because when you look at the beginning and ending balances from season to season, the difference between my 2 seasons is 1.2M dollars.
However, it is not truly that.

I have a couple 28 year old "veterans" on my team.
Their contract is up at the end of this season. They do not have arb years or anything going forward.
If I look at the salary screen, it is just blank going forward, as it should be, because their current contract ends at the end of this current season.

But when I go to offer them an extension, the game shows their next years arb estimate. It is some arbitrary number that the game feels they are worth next year.
If I sign a player under the estimated arb estimate, my $ available for extensions goes up by 448k.
Because I am signing the guy to a 2 year contract for $224k less per year then the arb estimate.
So my $ available for extensions actually goes up by $448k.

Even though the guy does not show any arb years for me going forward, as he should not.

So the financials are completely messed up.
Even though the game says my team has $1.2M available for extensions, I have more than that available.
I technically have my current player expenses available.

My team has $65M total money available, but because the financials were re-worked to show the difference from the current season to the next projected as the money available for extensions, it shows me as only having 1.2M available for extensions but it is not taking into account my current player expenses.

And I still argue that a big change like this should have been openly communicated to everyone prior to the game coming out.
Those of us that run online leagues were completely shocked after we upgrade to the new version of OOTP24 and all of a sudden a team that had tons of money available, went to having nothing available because financials were completely redone and reconfigured.

But the problem is, it is still not reporting things the right way.
My team doesn't really only have 1.2M available for extensions. If that were true, then I would not be able to sign a guy to a 2 year contract worth 2.8M per season.

I am trying to understand this as a commish of an online league, so I can help the rest of my league understand this.
I should not need a degree in finance to understand money coming in and money going out and the difference between them. lol
