Cards news: May 1 -- Roster moves

With Major League rosters being reduced from 28 to 26 players on May 1, the St. Louis Cardinals have designated outfielder Jack Lausch, infielder Cameron Cauley and first baseman Phoenix Billings to AAA Memphis.
The team has called up outfielder Akil Baddoo from AAA.
For the second consecutive year, Lausch, 25, started the season as the Cardinals starting center fielder but failed to capitalize.
In 20 games, he has hit .157 with one home run and five RBIs.
The 26-year-old Cauley got into just one game with the Cardinals, going 0 for 2.
Like Lausch, Billings was given a second chance to earn playing time but failed to take advantage.
The 27-year-old got into eight games/seven starts and hit just .120 with one home run and three RBIs.
Billings must pass through waivers before joining the Redbirds.
The Cardinals signed Badoo, 30, to a minor-league contract on April 20.
He spent last season with Arizona where he hit .243 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in 79 games/33 starts.
Badoo played in nine games at Memphis, hitting .222 with two home runs and three RBIs.
In his major league career, Badoo has played for Arizona, Detroit, Houston and Washington.
During that time he has participated in 912 games/695 starts during which he has hit. 230 with 66 home runs and 318 RBIs.
