I want to create a league, import the players, and have a "draft" to 4 teams created - or is importing players as "free agents" better - and how does the process vary specifically between the two?

But I can't get a league created with these players.
All Forum directions start in the middle of the process and/or use shorthand directions and terms not specifically used in the game set-up. I can't figure it out.

For example, are the steps:
1) Start at main opening screen (if not, where?)
2) Select "New Custom Game" (if not, what?)
3) Select "Fictional" (if not, what?)
4) Then what are the next steps (step-by-step with the specific nomenclature used in game)?

Also:
1) where specifically in the OOTP file structure on my computer do I put the Historical Player file ?
2) should my list of players be a text file or a csv file?

If you are only wanting 4 teams use a Fictional League setup. after you rename your 4 teams go into Advanced setup and set your other rules.

Have yourself in Commish Mode.
Start game
Go to league settings and release all players. This makes them FA. to go FA screen and select all - delete .


Save it as a text file and place it somewhere you can find it easily. i have a league folder for every league i play and if i import players i label each file for the year i am using it for that league. If you have each players with the team already set that you want them to go to (ruthba01,1927,NYY, mayswi01,1951,NYG) then Go to import players
Select your import rules and select the text file and navigate to where you saved it.


All imported players will have fictional contracts. Some will be rookies, some won't. You could also import them as FA and schedule a FA draft.
