Cards news: May 13 -- Knee injury will sign SS Diaz, Cauley recalled from AAA Memphis
The St. Louis Cardinals have place shortstop Willman Diaz on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a knee injury while running the bases during a 4-3 win over the Miami Marlins on May 13.
Diaz, 25, had started 31 games this season for St. Louis hitting .217 with five home runs and 12 RBIs.
Diaz is expected to miss up to four weeks.
Getting recalled from Memphis is 26-year-old middle infielder Cameron Cauley.
Cauley started the season in the majors but was sent down after he got just four at bats -- going 0 for 4 -- in the early going.
At AAA, Cauley has hit .390 with one home run and nine RBIs in 10 games.
Cauley has played in 119 MLB games/100 starts, during which he has hit .229 with eight home runs and 28 RBIs.
