Okuda gave up two straight singles to start the frame and then deadline pickup Ogando hit the first two he faced to force in a run, walked one to force in another and then gave up a 2-run single to lose it.

Team record: 63-55. Despite dropping two more games the Rays actually gained ground on Boston, which was swept at Fenway by the Dodgers, moving to within a game of the division lead. The wild-card lead is down to 3 games though. Next up: A day off then the Yankees visit the Trop for 3.
