Series 1-10
If we learned anything during the first 10 series, it was that every team has a chance and that every series will be hotly contested. Two 100 loss teams in the 1964 Mets and the 1916 Athletics pushed their series to the brink losing a seventh game but playing their hearts out. Season records seem to be going out the window as all teams, especially those lead by legendary managers push to advance.
Speaking of great managers, the first few series saw some real big names lose as John McGraw, Connie Mack, Sparky Anderson, Casey Stengel, Leo Durocher, and Pete Rose all went down to defeat.
The indwelling moments of the series were the Miller Huggins walk off inside the part home run in game seven for the 1915 Cardinals and Mickey Lolich throwing 10 innings of 3 hit ball in a shutout for the 1965 Tigers. The Angels franchise won twice while the Reds franchise lost twice and the Yankees have yet to make their debut.
