Now that most games are considerably shorter, it would be great for MLB to reconsider and return to "real" baseball rules rather than rushing to get the Extra Innings games over. Sadly, the way pitchers are managed now, I don't think there is any going back. Teams all want to keep their players as fresh as possible during the regular season and playing a few less innings here and there helps them do that. The rule takes away all the magic of extra innings games though. Watching a game and not knowing whether it was going to last 10, 12, 15, or 18 innings was one of my absolute favorite things about baseball. Now I absolutely despise extra innings games and am very rarely satisfied with the result, whether my favorite team wins or not. Rob Manfred will tell you that a majority of people love the new rule, but he's pretty good at telling people whatever he wants you to believe.
