One more out. Despite giving up two runs to let the Yankees within 3-2 in the top of the 9th, that's all Devon Williams needed to secure Game 1 of the ALDS, but he gave up the game-tying hit instead. And that's all Matt Cronin needed in the 10th with two men on and the game tied, but instead he gave up a 2-run triple to Brooks Lee. And so the Rays find themselves in an 0-1 hole in the ALDS thanks to a major bullpen meltdown. Joe Marlette was his ace-like self and the two relievers who followed him kept New York off the board and all they had to do was protect a 3-0 lead in the 9th. But they couldn't and now Kevin DiCostanzo will have to get it done tomorrow to keep their backs from the wall.
