Cards news: June 3 -- Kiner-Falefa to IL and other roster moves
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed utility infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a wrist injury during a 6-1 win over Milwaukee on June 2.
In his third season with the Cardinals, Kiner-Falefa, 34, has played in 19 games/13 starts and hit .205 with three RBIs.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis is 34-year-old utility infielder Nicky Lopez.
Lopez has played in and started 34 games for Memphis this season, during which he has hit .263 with two home runs and 17 RBIs.
He broke into the majors in 2019 with Kansas City. Lopez also has spent time with Miami and Milwaukee.
In 858 MLB games/681 starts, Lopez has hit .242 with eight home runs and 216 RBIs.
The Cardinals have also called up outfielder Deundre Jones from AAA Memphis.
Jones,25, started the season with the Cardinals but got just five at bats. H hit .200 with one RBI.
At AAA, Jones has hit .303 in 36 games/36 starts with 10 home runs and 24 RBIs.
Akil Baddoo, 30, has been placed on waivers and could return to Memphis.
Baddoo played in 14 games for the Cardinals, hitting just .146 with two RBIs.
