The Pirates dropped their 3rd game in a row despite taking a 3-1 lead in the 2nd inning. Former Pirate Chas McCormick went 3-3, and former Pirate Luis Arraez drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the 5th inning.

The Pirates swept the doubleheader as Carter Smith pitched well (6 IP, 1 R, 5 H, q0 K) and Bubba Chandler hit his 1st home run of the season in the 2nd inning, a 2-run shot, to put the Buccos ahead 2-0. Max Anderson smacked a 2-run homer in the 8th.

The Pirates have never had much success at Oracle Park, and the trend continued as the Giants prevailed in a tense extra-inning affair. The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the 6th, but the Giants tied it in the bottom of the 8th. The game remained 1-1 until David Mendoza smacked a run-scoring, walk-off single off J. B. Bukauskas in the 16th.
