Cards news: August 28 -- Knee injury sidelines Diaz; Cauley recalled from AAA
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed shortstop Wilman Diaz on the 10-day injured list after he had to leave their 9-6 win over the Minnesota Twins on August 28 with knee tendinitis.
Diaz, 25, has played in 82 games/80 starts this season and is batting .233 with five home runs and 20 RBIs.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis is middle infielder Cameron Cauley.
Cauley, 26, has split time between the Cardinals and Redbirds this season.
In the majors he has played in 14 games/8 starts and hit .129 with two RBIs.
At AAA, Cauley is hitting .330 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs in 48 games/all starts.
