One month is in the books and some interesting things happening in the standings. The Philadelphia Athletics are off to a great start, leading the American League race with an MLB best 19-9 record. The Boston Americans (11-17) have been disappointing, and the Chicago White Sox (6-22) are just plain bad. The National League race has the St. Louis Cardinals (18-10) in the lead, though the Pirates (16-12) and Beaneaters (16-12) are in hot pursuit. The New York Giants (8-20) have a firm hold on last place.
