MLB news: Sept. 25 -- Giants are again champions of the National League West
Despite falling 7-5 to the Colorado Rockies, the San Francisco Giants are champions of the National League West Division for the third consecutive season.
The Giants (88-63) lead the second-place Arizona Diamondbacks by 12 games 11 games remaining in the season.
San Francisco sits in third place among the NL division leaders. Central-leading Cincinnati sits at 90-61, one game ahead of the New York Mets, who top the NL East.
The Giants have made the World Series each of the past two seasons, only to fall to the Minnesota Twins.
San Francisco's last World Series title came in 2014.
