MLB news: Sept. 27 -- Angels punch their playoff ticket for seventh straight season
The Los Angeles Angels will be in the postseason for the seventh consecutive season after a 4-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sept. 26 assured them at least a wild-card berth.
At 90-62, the Angels lead the second-place Texas Rangers by 10 games in the American League West Division with 10 games to go.
A division championship would be the sixth in a row for the Halos.
L.A. also is on track to be the No. 1 seed in the AL postseason, sitting 2.5 games in front of the AL East-leading Baltimore Orioles.
The Angels last made the World Series in 2026, when they defeated the Washington Nationals.
L.A. also was in the World Series the previous year, but fell to the St. Louis Cardinals.
