A day after clinching a seventh straight trip to the postseason, the Los Angeles Angels wrapped up their sixth consecutive American League West Division championship when the Texas Rangers lost 11-7 to the Minnesota Twins.
The Angels (90-62), who did not play on Sept. 28, lead the Rangers by 10.5 games in the AL West with 10 games remaining.
L.A. also owns the best record in the American League, sitting 3.5 games in front of the AL East-leading Baltimore Orioles.
The Angels last made the World Series in 2026, when they defeated the Washington Nationals.
L.A. also was in the World Series the previous year but fell to the St. Louis Cardinals.
