Game 34: St. Louis Browns vs. Boston Americans

Wow, things really are not going well for the Americans. In what turned out to be the St. Louis Browns (18-16) 8th consecutive win, they topped the Boston Americans (13-21) by a score of 8 to 3.

Rookie pitcher Weldon Henley (5-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits, 4 walks, and a hit batsman; Game Score of 69. Sam Leever (3-5) was tagged with the loss after allowing 8 runs (7 earned) on 14 hits, 2 walk, and a wild pitch in 8 2/3 innings of play; Game Score of 29. Jake Boyd covered the final 1/3 inning.

The Browns' offense was firing on all cylinders, with George Magoon (4 for 5, 5 RBIs, Stolen Base), Jimmy Barrett (4 for 5, Double, 2 Runs, 2 RBIs), and Kip Selbach (1 for 3, 3 Runs, 2 Walks) leading the way. The Americans limited offense was paced by Bill Lange (2 for 4, 2 Runs, RBI, 2 Stolen Bases) and Jesse Hoffmeister (2 for 3, Triple, Run, Walk).
