Tigers hire new lead TV announcer from White Sox

The Tigers said Benetti signed a multiyear deal and will be an employee of the team, not Bally Sports Detroit, the TV rightsholder. (Most on-air talent with Bally Sports Detroit are employed or contracted by the network).
The club said Benetti’s contract calls for him to broadcast at least 127 games per year. When Benetti has other obligations on national broadcasts, longtime radio man Dan Dickerson will move over to handle TV duties.
