Cards news: April 20 -- Concussion will sideline Carpenter; Rastelli called up from AAA
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Kerry Carpenter on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a concussion following a hit-by-pitch during a 3-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on April 20.
Acquired in the offseason by the Cardinals, Carpenter has played in nine games/seven starts this season and hit .250 with one home runs and four RBIs.
Getting called up from AAA Memphis is the team's top position player prospect Vitale Rastelli.
The 21-year-old has hit .379 with four home runs and 10 RBIs in 14 games this season for the Redbirds.
Signed as a prospect out of Venezuela in 2024, Rastelli is the 13th-ranked prospect in all of the minors.
