I have had the game in the background 24/7 at work and home, so when I got a idea what I like to do in the game I make that change and press play.
Still I have done many of the Historic challenges and really enjoy them.

I do this too, leave it on. I work from home (for myself) right now so I just have it going in the background and sometimes I'll play a couple of weeks of a season before getting back to work.
