Just like in game 1, we scored in the 1st off Terry Gardner to give Bob Tewksbury a 1-0 lead and that stood up until the bottom of the 3rd when Mickey Hatcher cracked a 2 run shot to left to give the Braves a 2-1 lead. Lou Whitaker took the next pitch over the wall to right and we were behind 3-1 and another RBI single later in the inning made it 4-1 after 3.
And that was it all the way until the 9th when Gardner was pulled in favor of Richard Summers and Cox and Lynn greeted him with back to back singles to bring the tying run to the plate with nobody outs. Armstead hit a liner to right for the first out, Howell popped out to center and Briggs grounded to first and it was over..
