We had a few players gather post-season awards
Fred Lynn won his 3rd MVP, his first with the Angels after winning 2 with Montreal making him just the 2nd player to win MVP in both leagues. Ray Fontenot won the Cy Young with a 2.48 ERA. I was the only person who voted for Frank Viola for ROY after he went 15-7 and 2nd in ERA at 2.57, but John Kruk won it with .325/.411/.437 with 9 HR.
In the NL Mike Marshall was a unanimous winner after winning the Triple Crown. Douglas Nelson won his 2nd Cy Young for Pittsburgh and Cal Ripken won the ROY with .295/.340/.450 and 13 HR.
We have a few youngsters going to arbitration but none will be a problem. There are some really good UFA's, but I don't think I am going to go for any this year despite a larger budget. Our core is pretty locked in, but I want to find a way to off-load Burroughs large contract, I may need to use a decent prospect as a sweetener.
