The initial pun is meant to be an old minor league team (mirroring the Denver Bears), which has a fun "Millionaires"/
Rocky Mountain Oyster aesthetic. Then the replacement Rockies take inspiration from their name in 1993.

It is almost believable. It was 1993, and they did discover bones
excavating Coors Field. They made their mascot a Triceratops. And I think the teamname "Tops" would look right on a jersey and make great baseball headlines.
This is the first of two or three dinosaur-themed Rockies replacements I'm making
. Any of them could be located in Colorado Springs as a minor league team, or be used for a rookie level team. Not sure which one I'll pick for the majors yet.
