After a disappointing April, the Boston Americans improved with a 17-12 record in May and now sit in 4th place in the American League standings. The team has struggled to put the ball in play this year and has relied on the longball and its base running prowess. The pitching staff has been solid but has allowed far too many homeruns so far and is lacking a dominant "stuff" pitcher.

Had the team played at its April level, I was fully prepared to trade off veterans and look for a rebuilding plan. Now that the team had a successful May, I am torn want to do. It will be very difficult to get into playoff contention, yet I don't want to sell too early and miss a chance to compete. The first few weeks of June play will guide on my decision.
