There has also been complaints in that same group chat about NIL, free transfers, and conference realignment. I'm open to all of it and I'm excited to see how the dynamics of college sports change. The crazy thing is that in that LSU group chat they will also acknowledge that LSU (national championships in 2023 in baseball and women's basketball, 2022 SEC West championship in football) has benefitted from all these changes, but they don't like it because "tradition."
For my universe here, I have definitely sketched out population centers. That's why you will see a few teams moving out of the farms and into the places in the Commonwealth where there are lots of buildings, all either repaired or being repaired.
Also, and this is not a spoiier since I have released several news stories related to it, there will be a 4-team expansion in 2310. I have had a bit of a trigger finger to do it earlier, but my timeline states that the Glowing Sea Dome, the CBO's first domed stadium, is set to be completed in late 2309. Goodneighbor's stadium is also set to be ready for 2309, so the abandoned stadium in South Boston will be available. Cambridge's stadium will be available before 2310, and I also plan to have Nahant as the fourth team.
That also means I need to decide on 12 new locations for minor league teams. I'll have to look at my Fallout 4 map, or consider expanding beyond the map to a few more real towns outside of Boston.

I should clarify though, lest people get the wrong impression, but I'm not one of the tradition for tradition's sake either people to be fair. I like change, and I like improvement. I'm just of the opinion (generally in real life) that most changes are just change for change sake and don't actually progress anything. Hence why I said all your changes seemed to be with a purpose, and thus good changes. I like changes when they're done by someone with vision, I don't like changes when they're done by Dilbert's boss, haha.
