Game 68: Washington Senators vs. Boston Americans

Boston (35-33) completed the sweep of the Washington Senators (30-38) by pounding out 12 runs on 18 hits and 6 walks to secure the 12 to 1 victory. The win moves the Americans into a tie for 3rd place, 9 games behind the top spot.

Jesse Tannehill (10-7) picked up the win, allowing just 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 1 walk on a total of 126 pitches thrown; Game Score 81. Casey Patten (0-3) was driven from the game after just 4 2/3 innings due to the fact that he allowed 9 earned runs on 11 hits and 3 walks; Game Score 4. Arlie Pond covered the final 3 1/3 innings in which he served up an additional 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks.
